Hearing aid technology has come a long way in the past few years, and 2017 was no exception. Hearing aids of today are sophisticated, tiny devices that give you a whole new lease on hearing. Here’s a look back at some of our favorite hearing aids of 2017.

Oticon OPN

While Oticon’s OPN isn’t new in 2017, some of their latest features are. Two new styles were made available in 2017, the miniRITE which is fully rechargeable, and the BTE13PP, one of the most powerful hearing aids on the market, and perfect for those with severe hearing loss. Not only that, but OPN also now includes Tinnitus Sound Support and Speech Rescue LX in all their styles, so whichever model you choose, you’re guaranteed the best sound.

What makes OPN one of our favorites of 2017 is their Open Sound Navigator that works with the Speech Guard program to give you the best hearing in any listening environment. These programs work together to rescue sounds you can’t hear, and plays them in a range you can hear. You’ll hear speech clearly, even if you have high frequency hearing loss, since all those high consonant sounds will be played in a range you can easily hear.

We’re not the only ones who loved OPN in 2017. In fact, OPN received a gold award at the 2017 Edison Awards, in the Health & Wellness category. This award celebrates creativity and innovation, and recognized Oticon’s continued advances in person-centered designs.

ReSound LiNX 3D

Oticon isn’t the only company promoting rechargeable hearing aids as a way to save time and save the planet. ReSound’s LiNX 3D also features rechargeable technology, but the reason this is one of our top hearing aids of 2017 is all about connectivity. This advanced digital hearing aid gives you the best in wireless technology, streaming audio directly to your ears. Imagine getting a phone call, and not having to strain to hear what’s being said. With ReSound, your hearing aids act like wireless headphones, and audio and music will be streamed directly to your hearing devices from your phone, computer, or even TV.

You can easily control your programs and settings from a handy smartphone app, so you’ll never have to fiddle with your hearing aid again. The ReSound 3D app is also revolutionizing how you adjust your hearing aids in locations where you’re struggling to hear. Simply share your hearing difficulties on the app, and your audiologist can calibrate the settings you need to overcome that exact listening challenge.

In more challenging listening environments, the LiNX 3D uses Spatial Sense technology and Surround Sound, so you’ll have clear and natural hearing, no matter where the sound is coming from. Add to that their Binaural Directionality program, and you’ll always be able to focus on the sounds you want you want to hear.

Phonak Audeo B-R

Another award-winning hearing aid of 2017 is the Audeo B-R from Phonak. This year is Phonak’s 70th anniversary, so it’s fitting that they were honored with the prestigious iF Design Award for their world-class design. Adjudicated by independent experts from around the word, and chosen over 5,500 entries, Audeo B-R is world-class. What makes the Audeo B so special? It’s the first hearing aid of it’s kind made with a built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery that can provide 24 hours of hearing on a single charge. It also has a revolutionary fast charge option. Simply place the hearing aids on the charger for 30 minutes, and you’ll have 6 more hours of power.

The Audeo B-R is designed to simplify your life, from charging options to automatic programs and settings that adapt to the listening environment you’re in and create the best combination of settings to match your hearing ability and your location. The Audeo B hones in on speech sounds, and even improves your ability to hear soft sounds. You get it all, without you having to do a thing.
